I just got a Garmin Colorado 400t GPS for my Birthday! I am off on new adventures. Here is our first cache we found. It took us a bit, and we actually looked for another one before we gave up and went and looked for this one. I think everyone had fun, and it was a good little walk. Mateo learned that shoes are helpful for these adventures, but other than that there were no mishaps.

Welcome to my website on the Byrd family adventures in geocaching. Geocaching, for those of you not familiar with it, is a modern-day treasure hunt using a GPS. People hide their caches, post the coordinates on-line, and you download the coordinates and go hunting for it. All geocaches have a log book that you can sign to show that you have been there, and many caches have trinkets that the kids can trade for, and some have travel bugs which are on-line trackable items that you move from cache to cache and see where they end up.

There are geocaches all over the world, and a lot of them, too. Some you can drive right up to and some require a bit of a hike. So find one today and go have some fun!
